A dentist can recommend that you take special supplements that contain the essential nutrients needed to maintain the health of your teeth.

Is perhaps the most popular ally of healthy teeth because it is naturally found inside the tooth. Not enough calcium can lead to cavities, tooth decay, and other problems. This mineral can be found in dairy products and some vegetables but can be taken separately as a supplement.

This is typically found in most toothpaste and it helps fight tooth decay. Fluoride helps remineralize the enamel.

Another mineral that is important for fighting against disease, iron helps the body deal with gum problems and oral infections.

B Vitamins

Vitamin B3 or Niacin is useful to improve the cholesterol levels but also to prevent bad breath and mouth sores. Vitamins B12 and B2 are also helpful for preventing mouth sores or oral inflammation. B vitamins can be found in foods live chicken or fish, spinach or almonds.

Vitamin C

Has an important role in straightening the tissues and gum, thus preventing tooth loss and gum disease. It can be found naturally in oranges, lemons, berries, kale or broccoli. Vitamin D is also important because it is linked to the absorption of vitamin C.

Vitamin E

Is also important for the health of the gums and for decreasing inflammation in the mouth. It also has antioxidant properties and it is good for the body’s overall health. Avocado nuts and seeds are just some examples of foods containing vitamin E.
Apart from remembering to eat as much vitamin and mineral filled foods, dental patients should also remember to avoid if possible certain foods and drinks that can cause or aggravate existing dental conditions.
